Realm Romping: Enchanted Forest!

Hidden in the woods, you'd almost miss it if you weren't paying attention, is a fantastical park filled with faerie tales and magic. The Enchanted Forest is sequestered among lush green trees near Salem, Oregon. It was the perfect place for our little crew to Realm Romp, and do something NEW!

Faerieworlds was filled with dross this year (that means treasure) - so much so, that we collected some and decided to geocache a Dross Box of our own at the Enchanted Forest. Geocaching is an outdoor activity in which the participants use navigational techniques to hide & seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", anywhere in the world.

Julibee, Tria, Little Wing and I (Amethina) looked aaaall over for a place to hide our treasure, where it would be safe but easily accessible. Then we made up this riddle, since we don't have GPS, in order to help others to find the secret drossbox:

7 Dwarves love their treasure,
They get jewels from their mine
Faeries love their dross as well
And stash it all the time

Around the corner, up yon path
Reaching just beyond the rail
A hole is hidden under bark
Says the Fairy Tale

If you were to stretch a bit
And reach your arm around
A Dross Box cache, there you’ll find
Buried underground!

After the Drossbox was cleverly hidden, we continued on our adventure in order to make a map of the Forest just in case we had to find our way back to the treasure!

We climbed down the Rabbit Hole, ventured the Wicked Witch's cave, traveled through Western Town and rode the Ice Mountain Bobsleds. By the time we were done, we had a pretty good lay of the land and slipped down the Old Lady's Shoe sliding all the way home!

Now, I have just a few maps left that I've saved and made copies of where "X" marks the spot that treasure is secretly hidden. If you think you'll be going that way, and feel sleuthy, just send me a message on Facebook and I'll snail-mail the Treasure Map.

Happy hunting!
