A little history...The Orange Fairy Book is one in a whole rainbow of a series, this one published in 1906. Although the forewords and dedications of these books, are often addressed to children, these stories do embody the elements of the classical fairy tales. That is to say, they do not always have a happy ending for everyone.

 Fairy tales were often used as a way to teach life-lessons, morals and ethics to younglings - not unlike modern day. The life lessons of a hundred or more years ago have the propensity to be slightly darker by today's standards, since life was very different back then.

 Whatever the case, it is our hope to reinvigorate these antiquated tales by sharing them with you through this audio format. Please Enjoy!

King 5 News Interview

Ambassador for Oddmall, I got to tell K5 all about us!

Reap the whirlwind! This last weekend was beyond incredible. First, it was my 400th Bloomday and I had the distinct pleasure of throwing a party at Oddmall Seattle. Party Hardy Balloons built me a whole balloon castle, complete with sign, moat, toadstools and snails. Heidi from Kreative Kettlecorn brought me rainbow kettle corn and cherry cake-pops!

Clover the Balloon Fairy, Ion the Leprechaun, Ladies Leaflock & La De Dah and my Changeling Boy were in attendance. We duly converted an army of spritelings into unicorns by distributing unicorn-horn party hats, I wove fairy hair, Ion helped them crack Dwarven Mining Stones, VIP gift bags went out to the early RSVPs - it was amazing.

Perhaps the most exciting part though, was getting to appear on King 5 News to tell the world about the epicness of Oddmall Seattle! I was honored to represent this amazing event filled with small business artisans, vendors, eclectic entertainers and more.

The Dreamhaven Project

FAE Hollow @ Greenwood 2014!

FAE Hollow had a great time at Greenwood this weekend!  For the first time we were visited by two lovely sea maids: Kai & Serena the Mermaids.

The two oceanic lovelies brought a little aquatic magic to our hollow by transforming mere rocks into beautiful mermaid wishing stones for faire-goers.  We had a kinetic-sand box for play complete with sea shells and a sand castle, and some live tadpoles for the kiddos to look at.

Elsewhere in the Hollow, our silent helper (whom we call) Changeling Boy worked with the children to mine the jewels out of some glittery Dwarven Stones.  Late on Sunday afternoon, he manifested part of his fae nature as two red ears appeared on the top of his head!  We're so excited to see his magical side emerging and look forward to seeing what may come at Canterbury later on this month. :)

Ion the Leprechaun employed his alchemical expertise to verify that the Faere-y Coyne the children brought to us was 100% authentic coyne.  No forgeries! After a few tests, he was more than happy to trade the coyne for some tasty surprises from the magical candy apple.

For her part, Leaflock was all over the place, pixie-pinching attendees clandestinely, so that they could come make a wish on our dream tree.

We were also happy to discover that at the end of Faire, we had made $33 to donate to the Castle Fund!

Shrewsbury & Epona Combine Forces!

I am super excited this year for Shrewsbury Renaissance Faire! One of the many new things happening this year is their Sponsor-a-Knight program.  Normally at Shrews, the crowd for the joust is seated on a hillside but this year...HUZZAH!

For those (and that could be anyone, like you) who have opted to sponsor a knight, there will be premium VIP ringside seating.  Carpets, chairs, refreshments, banners and all!

So...I decided that for my Faerie Court this year, we'd sponsor Sir Jude.  He's a Knight of the Epona Equestrian Team out of Spokane, WA.  Rumors of competitions between the knights are already flying and it's going to be great.

Furthermore, I will have a magical faerie quest for the children to go on with Faire-y Coyne, Dwarven Mining Stones, the Rat Catchers game will be there also!

As if all that wasn't exciting enough, my friend Ion the Leprechaun will be joining myself and Lady Leaflock for the first time in our new stage act!  He thinks it is a secret, but we are on to his fascination with the human magic he calls "science".
