Black & Gold New Year's Giveaway

WHOA!  Totally exciting week this week!  First, I bring to you the Radcon all-call for the Cobalt Keybearer!

This is the first of several online auctions for the Live-action Quest for the Crowns that will be taking place at Radcon 2015!  Those who participate in the Quest get to go on a story adventure around the convention, interacting with characters, solving puzzles and riddles and finally saving the two diadems for the King & Queen at the Masquerade Ball on Saturday night!

I am very excited to see who our brave Keybearers will be this coming February!

Jonna's Candles Giveaway and the Quest for the Crowns

Next up on the docket - and I am very excited for this - is the Radcon Quest for the Crowns!  Our story begins here:

"Once upon a time, there was a land called Radcon. Each year in the Realm of Radcon, the kingdom held a grand masquerade to choose their new King and Queen. On this particular year however, the realm was in a panic for the Guardian of the Diadems had reported that the crowns were missing! Without the crowns, the new Queen and King could not be recognized. 

Everyone in the kingdom began to search high and low. The citizens of the Kingdom of Radcon searched for the Crowns, far and wide, that is, until the Fairy Messenger arrived. Through the marsh and across the swamp he rode with the snail mail. Too soon he discovered that the ransom note he brought for the Guardian of the Diadems was sopping wet and tattered..."

Why am I excited, you ask?  Well, this awesome story is the introduction into a live quest for 10 lucky kids at Radcon 2015, culminating at the Masquerade Ball.  There will be Leprechauns and Faeries, puzzles and challenges but most of all, there will be 10 Key Bearers who rescue the Crowns of Radcon!

Kamakru Giveaway & Weekly Update

This weekend was pretty awesome.  Ion the Leprechaun and I ventured down the silver path to the Spokane Renaissance Faire, to the Gossamer Glen of Queen Mab.  We had a great time making crowns, fairy rings, and magic wands!

Among the highlights was our Human Magic (Science) show with the kidlets.  We experimented with a some Rainbow magic and an Oobleck Spell.  We also enjoyed bartering the metals (bottlecaps) for wishing stones, and good times with good friends.

Tycho and Hypatia joined us for the trip, they seemed to do pretty well in both the blueberry chariot as well as their kitteh harnesses.  The kids were able to pet and hold and play with them but as you can see, motorin' sacked sister kitten out!

Project Dreamhaven received confirmation from Coupe Architecture that work on the park design will begin with our first payment.  We're almost to $1,000 to get that ball rolling, which is very exciting. :)  We are also nearly up to 300 votes on our Chase Grant application!

It's very nice to see the coupon-booklet contributing to both vendors, and the project all at once.  We are getting a lot of new sign-ups for next year so I'm looking forward to even bigger and better!

Dragondance Giveaway & Dreamhaven

The voting for Project Dreamhaven is going pretty well.  We need 250 votes to move to the next stage.  In this phase, the grant committee reviews the applicants in depth to decide who they want to award the $150,000 grant to.  20 winners are selected each year - so far, it doesn't look like anyone from the PNW has ever won. *fingers crossed*

Weekly Review & Shipwreck Giveaway!

Week in review!

I'm extremely excited to welcome Damsel in this Dress to our coupon book - her corsets and clothes are amazing!

The coupon booklet is nearing publishing.  We've had 30 of our vendors commit and should have all information formatted into a draft of the booklet by the end of the week.

I am looking forward to getting this fundraising effort up and running for the castle project in time for the holiday season.

Vendors and performers are continuing to register for the Fairyblossom Festival.  This week we get to announce Adria the Juggler as a part of our entertainment line-up!  She's a great performer specializing in juggling all kinds of crazy items whilst teaching about the history of the art.

We enjoyed a nice one-day affair in Quincy, WA called the Veritas Medieval Faire.  It was small but flavorful with an amazing view and dinner show.  I'm hoping to see this start-up event continue to grow.

OMGosh! It is only Monday and this week is set on zoom! I'll be flying out to Aunties Bookstore in Spokane on Wednesday for a 10:30am reading of my book.  Bring the kiddos if you're in the area!

On Thursday, I have Faeries and Elves Camp for which I've planned some fun activities and am looking forward to leading the parade of magical wee people around the neighborhood and then *whoosh*, back to the Emerald City for a birthday party and a late night appearance at the EMP Museum for their Myth & Magic Masquerade Ball!

I am really hoping to see a great turnout from the LARP, CosPlay and general geek/fantasy/Sci-fi community!  It should be a good time for all. :)

There will be a quest for adventurers, costumes galore, delicious food, drink, knights and high fun until the early hours of morn! I cannot even express how excited and honored I am to be a part of this particular event for the very first time. :)
