Back at the Castle: Weekly Update

It has been a whirlwind week, ending with the Myth & Magic Masquerade Ball at the EMP Museum.  What a great event!  We had a live-action quest for everyone to go on and I was a the very enigmatic and mysterious fairy princess that got to help the LARPers on their way.  They gave me the answer to the riddle and I gave them the next clue.  Very fun event with amazing costumes and special guests.

Thus we begin the week of prepping for Canterbury Renaissance Faire in Silverton, OR.  Human Magical (science) supplies, packing more books and product to be mailed before I'm gone for over a week, paperwork to get off to the Red Tape of Bureaucracy chimera, food to have prepared, trailers to secure, wow - the list is incredible.

Two major tasks this week will be to apply for a loan so that I can fund the main portion of the Feasibility Study (that baby troll is pretty hungry), as well as begin a draft on the Coupon-Fairy Fundraiser.  We now have ~15 Vendors signed up, and I hope to gain some more this weekend. :)

The Troll-o-Meter has in fact been rising, and every penny of course helps offset the first of our major monetary requirements for the Castle Project.  I feel encouraged and excited to be going forward, no matter how fast or slow - every step is closer!

Hope to see everyone at Canterbury!

Canterbury "Tails" Part 2

continued...
..so that sneaky little Nymph might transfer her foxy spirit onto the good Sir Knight...

The Knight craned his neck over left shoulder and right, each time the tail swinging just out of his sight!  The children of Canterbury however shouted, fingers waggling Traegun's direction, "A fox!" they proclaimed.

He took off running, and the hunt was on!  Skirting from tree to tree, those kids chased that foxy Knight all around the faire.  Each time he ventured forth from hiding behind a fir, they gave chase, trying to catch him and tug at his tail.

As they rounded the trail and crossed by the Queen's pavilion, they espied a fenced in ring.  With much shouting and whooping the gaggle of fiesty spritelings corralled the foxy Knight within.

Cornered in the ring, the Nymph Eimmas placed upon him another kiss and with a wish away she whisked his tail!

Everyone cheered, having had great fun and the Princess gave each child a charm as a gift to remember the magical hunt!

Canterbury "Tails" Part 1

Canterbury Faire buzzed with activity.  Hands rushed too and fro assembling Queen Elizabeth's pavilion.  Knights tested the jousting field on horseback before the official games began.  Faeries and sprites flitted about, hanging garlands of flowers and arranging toadstools for the Glen  while the gnomes stood guard at the gateway.

This particular tale though, revolves around a certain foxy Lady Nymph Ael Eimmas, who's appearance is regularly made at the Princess' Faerie Glen - and Canterbury was no exception.

Now, the crowds came out for the first weekend of Canterbury for certain, but not the sun.  It was about as dreary and grey as a forlorn Eor and nothing is more sad than a bunch of water-logged fae with their droopy wings hanging down.

Naturally, when a bunch of faeries and sprites and nymphs and elves are all left huddled out of the rain...they start getting restless.  Restlessness leads to gossip.  Gossip leads to brainstorming.  Brainstorming leads to mischievousness aaaaaand....

...what lead to the Lady Eimmas disguising herself as a mortal and visiting Queen Elizabeth's court and spying a handsome Lord Knight by the name of Traegun who was the object of a wee bit of a crush!

Well, Princess Lolly could hardly pass up the opportunity to have a little fun and so she conspired together with her Lady Eimmas to devise a plan.

An enchanted kiss they decided was the perfect gift for Traegun, after an arduous battle out on the field...so that sneaky little Nymph might transfer her foxy spirit onto the good Sir Knight...
